We are delighted to invite you to the first European Women’s Championship under 20, which will take place in early August in Poland at the premises of the Chorzów Silesian Stadium.
The organizer of the event is the Polish Lacrosse Federation. Although lacrosse in Poland has been present for only ten years, it is being developed by people with the right experience to organize an event of this kind at the highest level. Our teams play in the top tournaments in different parts of the world. It gives us the opportunity to see how such tournaments are arranged. We have already organized various events. For over seven years we have been organizing the nationwide men’s and woman’s leagues for fourteen clubs. What’s more, every year, Wroclaw organizes the largest tournament in this part of Europe “Silesia Cup” and hosts teams from over ten different countries. We organized also “The World Games” where the best woman’s teams competed in front of thousands of spectators gathered in the stands.

Chorzów will be the place where the best young woman players of Europe will meet during the next year’s championship. However, the neighboring capital of the Silesian voivodeship, Katowice, will also be used as a place where training fields will be located and accommodation arranged. Katowice is the city where the AZS Legion Katowice (men’s section) and AZS Walkirie Katowice (women’s section) come from. The phenomenon of Upper Silesian conurbation makes the two cities work closely together and the journey between them takes literally several minutes. They create a place extremely favorable to sports emotions. The cities have already organized such events as the European Basketball Championship in 2011, the World Volleyball Championship in 2014, the World Ice Hockey Championship and the European Handball Championships in 2016. For many years the Silesian Stadium has been the venue of the most important games of Polish national football and speedway teams. At this stadium the local lacrosse teams play their games and at this stadium the finals of the national men’s and women’s lacrosse leagues took place in 2017. Thus, it is hard to imagine a better place to host the first European Woman’s Championship U20. Our experience, the characteristics of the place and our great desire have to create an event that will be remembered for years. See you in Silesia in 2018!
